2021-10-26clk: at91: re-factor clocks suspend/resumeClaudiu Beznea
SAMA5D2 and SAMA7G5 have a special power saving mode (backup mode) where most of the SoC's components are powered off (including PMC). Resuming from this mode is done with the help of bootloader. Peripherals are not aware of the power saving mode thus most of them are disabling clocks in proper suspend API and re-enable them in resume API without taking into account the previously setup rate. Moreover some of the peripherals are acting as wakeup sources and are not disabling the clocks in this scenario, when suspending. Since backup mode cuts the power for peripherals, in resume part these clocks needs to be re-configured. The initial PMC suspend/resume code was designed only for SAMA5D2's PMC (as it was the only one supporting backup mode). SAMA7G supports also backup mode and its PMC is different (few new functionalities, different registers offsets, different offsets in registers for each functionalities). To address both SAMA5D2 and SAMA7G5 PMC add .save_context()/.resume_context() support to each clocks driver and call this from PMC driver. 2020-02-12clk: at91: usb: continue if clk_hw_round_rate() return zeroClaudiu Beznea
clk_hw_round_rate() may call round rate function of its parents. In case of SAM9X60 two of USB parrents are PLLA and UPLL. These clocks are controlled by clk-sam9x60-pll.c driver. The round rate function for this driver is sam9x60_pll_round_rate() which call in turn sam9x60_pll_get_best_div_mul(). In case the requested rate is not in the proper range (rate < characteristics->output[0].min && rate > characteristics->output[0].max) the sam9x60_pll_round_rate() will return a negative number to its caller (called by clk_core_round_rate_nolock()). clk_hw_round_rate() will return zero in case a negative number is returned by clk_core_round_rate_nolock(). With this, the USB clock will continue its rate computation even caller of clk_hw_round_rate() returned an error. With this, the USB clock on SAM9X60 may not chose the best parent. I detected this after a suspend/resume cycle on SAM9X60. 2015-07-27clk: change clk_ops' ->determine_rate() prototypeBoris Brezillon
Clock rates are stored in an unsigned long field, but ->determine_rate() (which returns a rounded rate from a requested one) returns a long value (errors are reported using negative error codes), which can lead to long overflow if the clock rate exceed 2Ghz. Change ->determine_rate() prototype to return 0 or an error code, and pass a pointer to a clk_rate_request structure containing the expected target rate and the rate constraints imposed by clk users. The clk_rate_request structure might be extended in the future to contain other kind of constraints like the rounding policy, the maximum clock inaccuracy or other things that are not yet supported by the CCF (power consumption constraints ?). 2015-04-12clk: at91: usb: propagate rate modification to the parent clkBoris Brezillon
The at91sam9n12 and at91sam9x5 usb clocks do not propagate rate modification requests to their parents. This causes a bug when the PLLB is left uninitialized by the bootloader (PLL multiplier set to 0, or in other words, PLL rate = 0 Hz). Implement the determinate_rate method and propagate the change rate request to the parent clk. at91rm9200_clk_usb_set_rate might fail depending on the requested rate, because the parent_rate / rate remainder is not necessarily zero. 2014-09-02clk: at91: rework rm9200 USB clock to propagate set_rate to the parent clkBoris BREZILLON
The RM9200 USB clock is actually connected to a single parent (the PLLB) on which we can apply a specific divider. The USB clock divider does not allow for fine grained control on the USB clock frequency, hence propagating the set_rate request to the parent is the only choice we have to properly configure the USB clock rate.
