2014-09-19ARM: pxa3xx: provide specific platform_devices for all ssp portsDaniel Mack
Currently, devices for SSP ports 1, 2 and 3 are registered as compatible devices to pxa27x-ssp. While the actual IP core is comparable, there are some subtle differences which users of the SSP ports address by looking at the 'type' field. By registering devices of type 'pxa27x-ssp', this 'type' field is incorrectly set to PXA27x_SSP which confuses the users. To fix this, provide specific ssp port plaform devices which use 'pxa3xx-ssp' as driver name, an instantiate them from pxa3xx.c. PXA95x isn't widely used. And it adds the effort on supporting multiple platform. So remove it. The assumption is that nobody will miss this support. If you are reading this text because you actually require pxa95x support on a new kernel, we can work out a way to revert this patch or add support to the mmp platform. 2012-08-23ARM: pmu: remove arm_pmu_type enumerationSudeep KarkadaNagesha
The arm_pmu_type enumeration was initially introduced to identify different PMU types in the system, the usual one being that on the CPU (ARM_PMU_DEVICE_CPU). With the removal of the PMU reservation code and the introduction of devicetree bindings for the CPU PMU, the enumeration is no longer required. This patch removes the enumeration and updates the various CPU PMU platform devices so that they no longer pass an .id field referring to identify the PMU type. 2012-02-28rtc: sa1100: declare irq in resourceHaojian Zhuang
Avoid to hard coded irq in rtc-sa1100 driver since we could share it among arch-sa1100/arch-pxa/arch-mmp. We still keep hard coded register address since the requirement is enabling both rtc-sa1100 and rtc-pxa driver. The PXA-SPI driver relies on some files / defines which are arm specific and are within the ARM tree. The CE4100 SoC which is x86 has also the SPI core. USB2.0 Device Controller (U2DC) which is found in Marvell PXA3xx. U2DC supports both High and Full speed modes. PXA320 and PXA300 U2DC supports only UTMI interface. PXA310 U2DC supports only ULPI interface and has the OTG capability. U2D Controller ULPI driver introduced in this patch supports only the PXA310 USB Host via the ULPI. This patch extends the ASoC API to allow sound cards to have more than one CODEC and more than one platform DMA controller. This is achieved by dividing some current ASoC structures that contain both driver data and device data into structures that only either contain device data or driver data. i.e. struct snd_soc_codec ---> struct snd_soc_codec (device data) +-> struct snd_soc_codec_driver (driver data) struct snd_soc_platform ---> struct snd_soc_platform (device data) +-> struct snd_soc_platform_driver (driver data) struct snd_soc_dai ---> struct snd_soc_dai (device data) +-> struct snd_soc_dai_driver (driver data) struct snd_soc_device ---> deleted This now allows ASoC to be more tightly aligned with the Linux driver model and also means that every ASoC codec, platform and (platform) DAI is a kernel device. ASoC component private data is now stored as device private data. The ASoC sound card struct snd_soc_card has also been updated to store lists of it's components rather than a pointer to a codec and platform. The PCM runtime struct soc_pcm_runtime now has pointers to all its components. This patch adds DAPM support for ASoC multi-component and removes struct snd_soc_socdev from DAPM core. All DAPM calls are now made on a card, codec or runtime PCM level basis rather than using snd_soc_socdev. 2009-12-01[ARM] pxa: allow platforms to control which uarts are registeredRussell King
For some platforms, it is inappropriate to register all PXA UARTs. In some cases, the UARTs may not be used, and in others we may want to avoid registering the UARTs to allow other drivers (eg, FICP) to make use of the UART. In addition, a while back there was a request to be able to pass platform data to the UART driver. This patch enables all of this by providing functions platforms can call to register each individual UART.
