[ Upstream commit 4873867e5f2bd90faad861dd94865099fc3140f3 ] from Designware I2S datasheet, tx/rx XRUN irq is cleared by reading register TOR/ROR, rather than by writing into them. 2015-10-27ASoC: fix broken pxa SoC supportRobert Jarzmik
[ Upstream commit 3c8f7710c1c44fb650bc29b6ef78ed8b60cfaa28 ] The previous fix of pxa library support, which was introduced to fix the library dependency, broke the previous SoC behavior, where a machine code binding pxa2xx-ac97 with a coded relied on : - sound/soc/pxa/pxa2xx-ac97.c - sound/soc/codecs/XXX.c For example, the mioa701_wm9713.c machine code is currently broken. The "select ARM" statement wrongly selects the soc/arm/pxa2xx-ac97 for compilation, as per an unfortunate fate SND_PXA2XX_AC97 is both declared in sound/arm/Kconfig and sound/soc/pxa/Kconfig. Fix this by ensuring that SND_PXA2XX_SOC correctly triggers the correct pxa2xx-ac97 compilation. [ Upstream commit 8811191fdf7ed02ee07cb8469428158572d355a2 ] PCM receive and transmit DMA requestor lines were reverted, breaking the PCM playback interface for PXA platforms using the sound/soc/ variant instead of the sound/arm variant. The commit below shows the inversion in the requestor lines. 2015-10-27ALSA: synth: Fix conflicting OSS device registration on AWE32Takashi Iwai
[ Upstream commit 225db5762dc1a35b26850477ffa06e5cd0097243 ] When OSS emulation is loaded on ISA SB AWE32 chip, we get now kernel warnings like: WARNING: CPU: 0 PID: 2791 at fs/sysfs/dir.c:31 sysfs_warn_dup+0x51/0x80() sysfs: cannot create duplicate filename '/devices/isa/sbawe.0/sound/card0/seq-oss-0-0' It's because both emux synth and opl3 drivers try to register their OSS device object with the same static index number 0. This hasn't been a big problem until the recent rewrite of device management code (that exposes sysfs at the same time), but it's been an obvious bug. This patch works around it just by using a different index number of emux synth object. There can be a more elegant way to fix, but it's enough for now, as this code won't be touched so often, in anyway. 2015-08-27ALSA: fireworks/firewire-lib: add support for recent firmware quirkTakashi Sakamoto
[ Upstream commit 18f5ed365d3f188a91149d528c853000330a4a58 ] Fireworks uses TSB43CB43(IceLynx-Micro) as its IEC 61883-1/6 interface. This chip includes ARM7 core, and loads and runs program. The firmware is stored in on-board memory and loaded every powering-on from it. Echo Audio ships several versions of firmwares for each model. These firmwares have each quirk and the quirk changes a sequence of packets. As long as I investigated, AudioFire2/AudioFire4/AudioFirePre8 have a quirk to transfer a first packet with 0x02 in its dbc field. This causes ALSA Fireworks driver to detect discontinuity. In this case, firmware version 5.7.0, 5.7.3 and 5.8.0 are used. Thus, this quirk may be observed among them. This commit adds a new member for AMDTP structure. This member represents the value of dbc field in a first AMDTP packet. Drivers can set it with a preferred value according to model's quirk. 2015-07-05ALSA: hda - Fix the dock headphone output on Fujitsu Lifebook E780Takashi Iwai
[ Upstream commit 4df3fd1700abbb53bd874143dfd1f9ac9e7cbf4b ] Fujitsu Lifebook E780 sets the sequence number 0x0f to only only of the two headphones, thus the driver tries to assign another as the line-out, and this results in the inconsistent mapping between the created jack ctl and the actual I/O. Due to this, PulseAudio doesn't handle it properly and gets the silent output. The fix is to ignore the non-HP sequencer checks. [ Upstream commit ee52e56e7b12834476cd0031c5986254ba1b6317 ] The mute-LED mode control has the fixed on/off states that are supposed to remain on/off regardless of the master switch. However, this doesn't work actually because the vmaster hook is called in the vmaster code itself. This patch fixes it by calling the hook indirectly after checking the mute LED mode. 2015-07-01ALSA: hda - adding a DAC/pin preference map for a HP Envy TS machineHui Wang
[ Upstream commit 6ab42ff44864d26e8e498b8ac655d24ee389d267 ] On a HP Envy TouchSmart laptop, there are 2 speakers (main speaker and subwoofer speaker), 1 headphone and 2 DACs, without this fixup, the headphone will be assigned to a DAC and the 2 speakers will be assigned to another DAC, this assignment makes the surround-2.1 channels invalid. To fix it, here using a DAC/pin preference map to bind the main speaker to 1 DAC and the subwoofer speaker will be assigned to another DAC. 2015-06-10ALSA: hda - Add AZX_DCAPS_SNOOP_OFF (and refactor snoop setup)Takashi Iwai
[ Upstream commit 37e661ee10c6d0d1310c62b3d29ae9a63073ac5d ] Add a new driver_caps bit, AZX_DCAPS_SNOOP_OFF, to set the snoop off as default. This new bit is used for the checks in azx_check_snoop_available(). Most of case-switches are replaced with the new dcaps in each entry. While working on it, for avoiding to spend more bits, combine three bits AZX_DCAPS_SNOOP_SCH, AZX_DCAPS_SNOOP_ATI and AZX_DCAPS_SNOOP_NVIDIA bits into a flat type of two bits. This reduces the bits usages, and assign AZX_DCAPS_OFF to this empty bit now. Signed-off-by: Takashi Iwai <tiwai@suse.de> Signed-off-by: Sasha Levin <sasha.levin@oracle.com>
2015-06-10Revert "ALSA: hda - Add mute-LED mode control to Thinkpad"Takashi Iwai
[ Upstream commit 3530febb5c7636f6b26d15637f68296804d26491 ] This reverts commit 7290006d8c0900c56d8c58428134f02c35109d17. Through the regression report, it was revealed that the tpacpi_led_set() call to thinkpad_acpi helper doesn't only toggle the mute LED but actually mutes the sound. This is contradiction to the expectation, and rather confuses user. According to Henrique, it's not trivial to judge which TP model behaves "LED-only" and which model does whatever more intrusive, as Lenovo's implementations vary model by model. So, from the safety reason, we should revert the patch for now.
