git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/arm/arm-soc Pull ARM SoC cleanups from Olof Johansson: "This merge window brings a good size of cleanups on various platforms. Among the bigger ones: - Removal of Samsung s5pc100 and s5p64xx platforms. Both of these have lacked active support for quite a while, and after asking around nobody showed interest in keeping them around. If needed, they could be resurrected in the future but it's more likely that we would prefer reintroduction of them as DT and multiplatform-enabled platforms instead. - OMAP4 controller code register define diet. They defined a lot of registers that were never actually used, etc. - Move of some of the Tegra platform code (PMC, APBIO, fuse, powergate) to drivers/soc so it can be shared with 64-bit code. This also converts them over to traditional driver models where possible. - Removal of legacy gpio-samsung driver, since the last users have been removed (moved to pinctrl) Plus a bunch of smaller changes for various platforms that sort of dissapear in the diffstat for the above. clps711x cleanups, shmobile header file refactoring/moves for multiplatform friendliness, some misc cleanups, etc" * tag 'cleanup-for-3.17' of git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/arm/arm-soc: (117 commits) drivers: CCI: Correct use of ! and & video: clcd-versatile: Depend on ARM video: fix up versatile CLCD helper move MAINTAINERS: Add sdhci-st file to ARCH/STI architecture ARM: EXYNOS: Fix build breakge with PM_SLEEP=n MAINTAINERS: Remove Kirkwood ARM: tegra: Convert PMC to a driver soc/tegra: fuse: Set up in early initcall ARM: tegra: Always lock the CPU reset vector ARM: tegra: Setup CPU hotplug in a pure initcall soc/tegra: Implement runtime check for Tegra SoCs soc/tegra: fuse: fix dummy functions soc/tegra: fuse: move APB DMA into Tegra20 fuse driver soc/tegra: Add efuse and apbmisc bindings soc/tegra: Add efuse driver for Tegra ARM: tegra: move fuse exports to soc/tegra/fuse.h ARM: tegra: export apb dma readl/writel ARM: tegra: Use a function to get the chip ID ARM: tegra: Sort includes alphabetically ARM: tegra: Move includes to include/soc/tegra ...
2014-07-29ARM: 8113/1: remove remaining definitions of PLAT_PHYS_OFFSET from ↵Uwe Kleine-König
<mach/memory.h> The platforms selecting NEED_MACH_MEMORY_H defined the start address of their physical memory in the respective <mach/memory.h>. With ARM_PATCH_PHYS_VIRT=y (which is quite common today) this is useless though because the definition isn't used but determined dynamically. So remove the definitions from all <mach/memory.h> and provide the Kconfig symbol PHYS_OFFSET with the respective defaults in case ARM_PATCH_PHYS_VIRT isn't enabled. This allows to drop the dependency of PHYS_OFFSET on !NEED_MACH_MEMORY_H which prevents compiling an integrator nommu-kernel. (CONFIG_PAGE_OFFSET which has "default PHYS_OFFSET if !MMU" expanded to "0x" because CONFIG_PHYS_OFFSET doesn't exist as INTEGRATOR selects NEED_MACH_MEMORY_H.) 2014-07-08omap16xx: Removes fixme no longer needed in ocpi_enable()Nicholas Krause
This removes the FIXME message above ocpi_enable being declared for proper locking in this function. As of the current kernel verisons there is no need for locking as only one driver uses this function currently and therefore there is no need for real locking requirements. 2014-05-16ARM: OMAP: replace checks for CONFIG_USB_GADGET_OMAPPaul Bolle
Commit 193ab2a60700 ("usb: gadget: allow multiple gadgets to be built") apparently required that checks for CONFIG_USB_GADGET_OMAP would be replaced with checks for CONFIG_USB_OMAP. Do so now for the remaining checks for CONFIG_USB_GADGET_OMAP, even though these checks have basically been broken since v3.1. And, since we're touching this code, use the IS_ENABLED() macro, so things will now (hopefully) also work if USB_OMAP is modular. 2014-04-05Merge branch 'for-linus' of git://ftp.arm.linux.org.uk/~rmk/linux-armLinus Torvalds
Pull ARM changes from Russell King: - Perf updates from Will Deacon: - Support for Qualcomm Krait processors (run perf on your phone!) - Support for Cortex-A12 (run perf stat on your FPGA!) - Support for perf_sample_event_took, allowing us to automatically decrease the sample rate if we can't handle the PMU interrupts quickly enough (run perf record on your FPGA!). - Basic uprobes support from David Long: This patch series adds basic uprobes support to ARM. It is based on patches developed earlier by Rabin Vincent. That approach of adding hooks into the kprobes instruction parsing code was not well received. This approach separates the ARM instruction parsing code in kprobes out into a separate set of functions which can be used by both kprobes and uprobes. Both kprobes and uprobes then provide their own semantic action tables to process the results of the parsing. - ARMv7M (microcontroller) updates from Uwe Kleine-König - OMAP DMA updates (recently added Vinod's Ack even though they've been sitting in linux-next for a few months) to reduce the reliance of omap-dma on the code in arch/arm. - SA11x0 changes from Dmitry Eremin-Solenikov and Alexander Shiyan - Support for Cortex-A12 CPU - Align support for ARMv6 with ARMv7 so they can cooperate better in a single zImage. - Addition of first AT_HWCAP2 feature bits for ARMv8 crypto support. - Removal of IRQ_DISABLED from various ARM files - Improved efficiency of virt_to_page() for single zImage - Patch from Ulf Hansson to permit runtime PM callbacks to be available for AMBA devices for suspend/resume as well. - Finally kill asm/system.h on ARM. * 'for-linus' of git://ftp.arm.linux.org.uk/~rmk/linux-arm: (89 commits) dmaengine: omap-dma: more consolidation of CCR register setup dmaengine: omap-dma: move IRQ handling to omap-dma dmaengine: omap-dma: move register read/writes into omap-dma.c ARM: omap: dma: get rid of 'p' allocation and clean up ARM: omap: move dma channel allocation into plat-omap code ARM: omap: dma: get rid of errata global ARM: omap: clean up DMA register accesses ARM: omap: remove almost-const variables ARM: omap: remove references to disable_irq_lch dmaengine: omap-dma: cleanup errata 3.3 handling dmaengine: omap-dma: provide register read/write functions dmaengine: omap-dma: use cached CCR value when enabling DMA dmaengine: omap-dma: move barrier to omap_dma_start_desc() dmaengine: omap-dma: move clnk_ctrl setting to preparation functions dmaengine: omap-dma: improve efficiency loading C.SA/C.EI/C.FI registers dmaengine: omap-dma: consolidate clearing channel status register dmaengine: omap-dma: move CCR buffering disable errata out of the fast path dmaengine: omap-dma: provide register definitions dmaengine: omap-dma: consolidate setup of CCR dmaengine: omap-dma: consolidate setup of CSDP ...

2014-04-04dmaengine: omap-dma: move register read/writes into omap-dma.cRussell King
Export the DMA register information from the SoC specific data, such that we can access the registers directly in omap-dma.c, mapping the register region ourselves as well. Rather than calculating the DMA channel register in its entirety for each access, we pre-calculate an offset base address for the allocated DMA channel and then just use the appropriate register offset. 2014-04-04ARM: omap: dma: get rid of 'p' allocation and clean upRussell King
The omap_system_dma_plat_info structure is only seven words, it's not worth the expense of kmalloc()'ing backing store for this only to release it later. Note that platform_device_add_data() copies the data anyway. Clean up the initialisation of this structure - we don't even need code to initialise most of this structure. Acked-by: Tony Lindgren <tony@atomide.com> Signed-off-by: Russell King <rmk+kernel@arm.linux.org.uk>
2014-04-04ARM: omap: move dma channel allocation into plat-omap codeRussell King
This really needs to be there, because otherwise the plat-omap code can kfree() this data structure, and then re-use the pointer later. Acked-by: Tony Lindgren <tony@atomide.com> Signed-off-by: Russell King <rmk+kernel@arm.linux.org.uk>
2014-04-04ARM: omap: dma: get rid of errata globalRussell King

2014-04-04ARM: omap: remove almost-const variablesRussell King

2014-03-21ARM: omap1: don't rely on tps65010Arnd Bergmann
The code for h2 and osk implicitly assumes that the tps65010 driver is built-in, in order to perform the initial regulator setup. This is fine for most real uses, but it does get into the way of build testing with 'make randconfig', since we don't want platforms to implicitly select device drivers and subsystems such as I2C. This patch by contrast changes the board files to not call into the tps65010 driver when that is not built-in, allowing us to build all configurations including some that will not work properly on this hardware. next/cleanup This cleanup series gets rid of <mach/timex.h> for platforms not using ARCH_MULTIPLATFORM. (For multi-platform code it's already unused since 387798b (ARM: initial multiplatform support).) To make this work some code out of arch/arm needed to be adapted. The respective changes got acks by their maintainers to be taken via armsoc (with Andrew Morton substituting for Alessandro Zummo as rtc maintainer). Compared to the previous pull request there was another patch added that fixes a (non-critical) regression on ixp4xx. Olof Johansson asked to not squash this fix into the original commit to save him from the need to reverify the series. * tag 'dropmachtimexh-v2' of git://git.pengutronix.de/git/ukl/linux: ARM: ixp4xx: fix timer latch calculation ARM: drop <mach/timex.h> for !ARCH_MULTIPLATFORM, too ARM: rpc: stop using <mach/timex.h> ARM: ixp4xx: stop using <mach/timex.h> input: ixp4xx-beeper: don't use symbols from <mach/timex.h> ARM: at91: don't use <mach/timex.h> ARM: ep93xx: stop using mach/timex.h ARM: mmp: stop using mach/timex.h ARM: netx: stop using mach/timex.h ARM: sa1100: stop using mach/timex.h clocksource: sirf/marco+prima2: drop usage of CLOCK_TICK_RATE rtc: pxa: drop unused #define TIMER_FREQ rtc: at91sam9: include <mach/hardware.h> explicitly ARM/serial: at91: switch atmel serial to use gpiolib Signed-off-by: Olof Johansson <olof@lixom.net>

As we proceed to untangle the dependencies between platform code and driver code, the amount of changes in this category is fortunately shrinking, for 3.11 we have 16 branches here and 101 non-merge changesets, the majority of which are for the stedma40 dma engine driver used in the ux500 platform. Cleaning up that code touches multiple subsystems, but gets rid of the dependency in the end. The mailbox code moved out from mach-omap2 to drivers/mailbox is an intermediate step and is still omap specific at the moment. Patches exist to generalize the subsystem and add other drivers with the same API, but those did not make it for 3.11." * tag 'drivers-for-linus' of git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/arm/arm-soc: (101 commits) crypto: ux500: use dmaengine_submit API crypto: ux500: use dmaengine_prep_slave_sg API crypto: ux500: use dmaengine_device_control API crypto: ux500/crypt: add missing __iomem qualifiers crypto: ux500/hash: add missing static qualifiers crypto: ux500/hash: use readl on iomem addresses dmaengine: ste_dma40: Declare memcpy config as static ARM: ux500: Remove mop500_snowball_ethernet_clock_enable() ARM: ux500: Correct the EN_3v3 regulator's on/off GPIO ARM: ux500: Provide a AB8500 GPIO Device Tree node gpio: rcar: fix gpio_rcar_of_table gpio-rcar: Remove #ifdef CONFIG_OF around OF-specific sections gpio-rcar: Reference core gpio documentation in the DT bindings clk: exynos5250: Add enum entries for divider clock of i2s1 and i2s2 ARM: dts: Update Samsung I2S documentation ARM: dts: add clock provider information for i2s controllers in Exynos5250 ARM: dts: add Exynos audio subsystem clock controller node clk: samsung: register audio subsystem clocks using common clock framework ARM: dts: use #include for all device trees for Samsung pinctrl: s3c24xx: use correct header for chained_irq functions ...

Since the shmobile platform still uses board files for some of the newer machines, we get a few changes there as the result of drivers getting enabled for those boards. 2013-06-18ARM: OMAP1: Remove duplicated DMA channel definitionsJarkko Nikula
Similarly than with OMAP2 there are many DMA channel definitions that have been moved or redefined in drivers using them and we can remove them from dma.h. There is exception with MMC that arch/arm/mach-omap1/devices.c is using MMC DMA channel definitions for setting platform data but those can be well replaced with numeric values. Remove dma.h include from arch/arm/mach-omap1/devices.c and use a script below for dropping duplicated definitions and for replacing definitions with DMA channel numbers. grep '#define OMAP_DMA' arch/arm/mach-omap1/dma.h | while read -r i; do \ DDEF=`echo $i |cut -d ' ' -f 1-2`; \ DEF=`echo $DDEF |cut -d ' ' -f 2`; \ CH=`echo $i |cut -d ' ' -f 3`; \ if [ `git grep -c "$DDEF" |wc -l` -gt 1 ]; then \ echo "removing" $DEF; \ sed -i "s/${DEF}/${CH}/" arch/arm/mach-omap1/devices.c; \ sed -i "/${DDEF}/d" arch/arm/mach-omap1/dma.h; \ fi; \ done Signed-off-by: Jarkko Nikula <jarkko.nikula@bitmer.com> Signed-off-by: Tony Lindgren <tony@atomide.com>
2013-06-18ARM: OMAP1: Remove McBSP DMA channel definitionsJarkko Nikula
arch/arm/mach-omap1/mcbsp.c is only place where OMAP1 McBSP DMA channel definitions are set. We may well use numerical values there and get rid of their definitions in arch/arm/mach-omap1/dma.h. Remove dma.h include from arch/arm/mach-omap1/mcbsp.c and use following script for replacing definitions with DMA channel number: egrep '#define OMAP_DMA_MCBSP' arch/arm/mach-omap1/dma.h | cut -f 1,3 \ | while read i; do \ DEF=`echo $i |cut -d ' ' -f 2`; \ CH=`echo $i |cut -d ' ' -f 3`; \ echo "removing" $DEF; \ sed -i "s/${DEF}/${CH}/" arch/arm/mach-omap1/mcbsp.c; \ sed -i "/${DEF}/d" arch/arm/mach-omap1/dma.h; \ done Signed-off-by: Jarkko Nikula <jarkko.nikula@bitmer.com> Signed-off-by: Tony Lindgren <tony@atomide.com>

2013-06-11mailbox/omap: move the OMAP mailbox framework to driversSuman Anna
The mailbox hardware (in OMAP) uses a queued mailbox interrupt mechanism that provides a communication channel between processors through a set of registers and their associated interrupt signals by sending and receiving messages. The OMAP mailbox framework/driver code is moved to be under drivers/mailbox, in preparation for adapting to a common mailbox driver framework. This allows the build for OMAP mailbox to be enabled (it was disabled during the multi-platform support). As part of the migration from plat and mach code: - Kconfig symbols have been renamed to build OMAP1 or OMAP2+ drivers. - mailbox.h under plat-omap/plat/include has been split into a public and private header files. The public header has only the API related functions and types. - The module name mailbox.ko from plat-omap is changed to omap-mailbox.ko - The module name mailbox_mach.ko from mach-omapX is changed as mailbox_omap1.ko for OMAP1 mailbox_omap2.ko for OMAP2+ Cc: Tony Lindgren <tony@atomide.com> [gregkh@linuxfoundation.org: ack for staging part] Acked-by: Greg Kroah-Hartman <gregkh@linuxfoundation.org> Signed-off-by: Omar Ramirez Luna <omar.ramirez@copitl.com> Signed-off-by: Suman Anna <s-anna@ti.com>
